Before using:
INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST

Directions:
Follow the directions for using
Famvir provided by your doctor. The medicine may be taken on
an empty stomach or with food. TO CLEAR UP YOUR
INFECTION COMPLETELY, continue taking Famvir for the
full course of treatment, even if you feel better in a
few days. Do not miss any Famvir doses. IF YOU MISS A
DOSE OF Famvir, take it as soon as possible. If it
is almost time for your next dose of Famvir, skip the
missed dose and go back to your regular
dosing schedule. Do NOT take 2 doses of at
once.
Cautions:
If your symptoms do not improve
within a few days of taking Famvir or if they become
worse, check with your doctor. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING
ANY NEW MEDICINE other than Famvir, either prescription
or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or
pharmacist. IT IS UNKNOWN IF Famvir IS EXCRETED in
breast milk. DO NOT BREAST-FEED while taking
the medicine.
Possible side effects:
SIDE EFFECTS, that may go
away during treatment, include headache, nausea,
vomiting, diarrhea, or tiredness. If these
effects continue or are bothersome, check with your
doctor. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY about taking
Famvir if you experience hallucinations, disorientation,
or confusion. If you notice other effects not
listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or
pharmacist.

Drug interactions can
result in unwanted side effects or prevent Famvir from
doing its job.
If you overdose:
If overdose is suspected,
contact your local poison control center or emergency
room immediately.
